Usability testing revolves around finding out what the customer or client is saying about a website or product. Without participants from the correct demographic(s), the test results may be worthless, since they are not representative of the product’s actual users.

An effective recruiting staff is one of our points of pride here at Usability Sciences; we consider their work an extremely important part of our testing.


From the beginning, Usability Sciences has always conducted its own recruiting, instead of utilizing a call center or an off-site vendor, for a more personable recruiting experience. Many companies use call centers or an off-site vendor, but this is not good enough for us: providing a personal touch is one way that we strive toward, and achieve, high recruiting standards.

We typically use only one recruiter per project, which ensures a higher level of consistency in the quality of recruited participants.

We have an internal and continuously growing database consisting of participants located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; we also have a smaller database of participants from around the country. These participants represent a wide variety of industries and demographics, which allows us to find the right individuals for almost any type of research method.

For larger projects that require considerably more participants, such as a card-sorting study, or for our more difficult user profiles, our recruiting team works closely with some of the best recruiting companies to identify participants who meet your target audience.

Our recruiters have built and refined effective screening questions for over 25 years to get the best participants for our tests.
