What do you want from a Usability Study?
When you start planning to conduct a usability study here are some questions you should ask yourself:
- Am I looking for qualitative usability information to improve my current website?
- I have new concepts but are they the right designs and/or features?
- Do I need quantitative data to substantiate design decisions?
- Is my website targeted at an international audience in multiple languages?
- Am I interested in how my website compares to my leading competitors?
The answers to these questions help us determine the best usability study for you. With 20 different usability services we pride ourselves in being able to provide what is best for our customers.
For example:
- If you haven't ever usability tested your current site and are looking for actionable recommendations for improving the user experience we'd probably recommend usability testing.
- If you are in the process of redesigning your website and need to understand if your designs meet the needs of your users we'd recommend a design walkthrough of a prototype or wireframe.
- If you need quantitative results a usability test conducted in a usability lab is probably cost prohibitive; we will probably recommend an online usability study.
- If you need feedback from an international audience for your usability study we have several alternatives that we can discuss with you
- If you need to understand how your website compares to your key competitors we would probably recommend an online competitive benchmark or a usability lab based competitive study
And the reason we qualify these examples with "probably" is that everyone's situation is unique. Contact us and we can have a discussion about your usability study needs and our specific recommendations for meeting them.
