Panel-Based Competitive Benchmarking
Competitive Benchmarking uses the same WebIQ® technology and methodology as our Task-based Online Usability Study, but includes the client's site along with two or three competitive sites. Test participants are typically recruited from the client's site or from pre-screened market research panels in large enough numbers to gather significant conclusions. These test participants are presented with tasks to perform and asked to answer questions designed both to measure success and to identify difficulties with completing the tasks on each site. A final set of questions are presented to each participant in order to compare their experience on each site.
This service is ideal for clients who want to gauge how their site stacks up against their competition or want to understand best-of-breed practices, features, and functions. Clients typically use this service to baseline user experience in their industry and then to regularly measure their performance against the industry baseline.
Panel-Based Competitive Benchmarking Deployment
Invitations to participate in this study (with or without an incentive) are sent by email to targeted panelists. Once interested participants opt-in to participate, they are presented with a series of tasks followed by questions designed to measure success and to identify difficulties with completing the tasks. In addition, task completion times, successful page loads, and the number of back-clicks are captured and recorded.
Panel-Based Competitive Benchmarking Deliverables
Once a predetermined number of participants have completed the study, a data export is delivered in spreadsheet format followed by a detailed report illustrating key performance metrics, data highlights, categorized open text responses with sample verbatim comments, and findings and recommended actions.
